Potaerde House

Restored country house on the farm : ‘the Potaerdehoeve’. This luxurious house from 1772 is very authentic and beautifully restored. Are you on vacation and want to discover Brussels? Ideally from here in the green belt around Brussels, away from the hustle and bustle. The location is extremely quiet, cows graze in the adjacent meadows. Unique, so close to Brussels!
Adjacent to the mansion is our farm , a modern dairy farm. You will come and have a look, won't you?

The house has a very nicely equipped kitchen, but several caterers or catering services are also nearby. Outside, on the terrace with the large table, you can prepare cozy, culinary meals on a beautiful plancha of corten steel: ideal for a summer or winter barbecue!

Space
The materials used in the renovation of the house are of extremely high quality. Authentic materials combined with modern comfort.
A very nice kitchen, with Falcon stove, makes this house perfect for organizing cooking workshops or gourmet outings with family or friends.
‘Huize Potaerde’ adjoins ‘the old barn’ of the Potaerdehoeve, an impressive space that can be rented along with it. It is located on a modern dairy farm. You have access to the farm.
You can unwind on your own terrace overlooking the fields.
An outdoor pool will be available starting in May 2026. Its construction is scheduled for spring 2026. Use shared with owners only. (As soon as photos are available we will put them online)

Guest access
You will have the entire house to yourself, with no other guests.
The country house is extremely quiet, away from the public road. There is no through traffic. There are private parking spaces at the mansion itself.

House Potaerde is 10 km from the outskirts of Brussels - close to Palace 12, Brussels Expo, the Heysel, the Atomium, and the UZ Brussels, all about a 20-minute drive away. If you really want to get to the center of Brussels, the distance is about 20 km. A pleasant alternative is to take the train from the neighboring village of Mollem. There is parking for 2 cars at the house itself. In addition, cars can also be parked in the driveway of the house and on the farm.

What is the check-in and check-out time for House Potaerde?

Check-in is available from 3 p.m. onwards. Earlier check-in on request. Check-out no later than 1 p.m.

The check-out rules for House Potaerde?

We will come on site for check out. Please leave everything neat and tidy. Please turn off the lights. The bottom button at the back door extinguishes all lights. Please report damage before departure. Please recycle trash by depositing in the proper trash cans.

Are bed linens and towels included?

All bed linen is provided and beds are made. Towels are provided for you.

Is wifi available in the home?

Yes, you will find the code on a little frame on the étagère in the kitchen.

How many people can stay there?

There is sleeping space for 8 people. You can invite guests, but the total group should not exceed 14 people.

Is the house suitable for children?

Certainly, children are more than welcome. There is a crib, a movable crib, high chairs and extra toys and children's books in the cupboards. On the farm they can meet the animals: cows and calves, a pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens,.... There are lots of children's toys, go-carts, a play tower, sandbox and a large play barn.

Are pets allowed?

No, unfortunately not. For the sake of biosecurity on our farm and to protect our cows, we unfortunately cannot allow dogs and other animals.

House Potaerde's house rules?

Drugs are strictly prohibited in Huis Potaerde. Huis Potaerde is not the place for partying or heavy drinking. Bachelorette parties for boys/men are not allowed. Smoking inside and on the farm is not allowed. Only on the terrace of the house. Bringing your own music systems is not necessary. House Potaerde has a music box available via bluetooth. Confetti and fireworks are not allowed on the property and in the house. Fire making is only allowed in the plancha. Please pay close attention to children in the garden and on the farm. They may play or go to the animals, but always accompanied by an adult. Bringing torches or electric cooking fires is not allowed.

Is there a crib or high chair available?

There is a toddler bed upstairs; a baby bed (travel cot) can be set up. High chairs are available upon request. (are not standard in the house)

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking inside the house and on the farm is not allowed. Only on the terrace of the house.

Is there a fully equipped kitchen?

There is a beautiful, quality kitchen in the house. Everything needed for cozy cooking is there. There is a large Falcon fire with 6 hobs and 3 ovens. There is a microwave, toaster, coffee makers (filters & tabs), kettle, kitchen robot (kitchenaide), dishwasher (Miele), ... A spacious refrigerator with small freezer compartment. There is enough crockery, cutlery, glasses and cups for the number of guests. Various cooking utensils, such as pots, pans, (bread) knives, colander, kitchen scissors, hand mixer, can opener, corkscrew, ... are standard present. There are plenty of cleaning products and tea towels. Furthermore, there is a wide choice of spices, oil, salt & pepper.
